The Vigeland park
The Vigeland Park is Norway's most visited attraction with over 1 million visitors every year. Approximately 200 sculptures by Gustav Vigeland (1869-1943), who also designed the layout of the park. A monumental artistic creation with a human message that is well worth seeing. Popular recreation area.
The Royal Palace
The royal residence at the top of Karl Johans gate. Built 1824-48, open to the public in the summer (tickets must be ordered in advance).The Palace Park contains statues, small lakes and is a popular recreation area. Changing of the guard every day at 1.30 pm.

Holmenkollen Culture and Tourist Center
Holmenkollen is the most visited tourist attraction in Norway. Ski museum, ski jump tower, souvenir shop and cafeteria. World Cup events are held annually in Holmenkollen Ski Arena.
Holmenkollen is being rebuilt for the 2011 FIS Nordic World Championships. Holmenkollen Culture and Tourist arena with a Ski Museum, café, souvenir shop and ski simulator reopened 1 May 2010. The tower opened to the public 1 July and offers panoramic views of Oslo.

The Viking Ship Museum
Part of the University Museum of Cultural Heritage. Great Viking-ship discoveries from Gokstad, Oseberg and Tune as well as other finds from Viking tombs around the Oslo Fjord. The world's two best-preserved wooden Viking ships built in the 9th century. Small boats, sledges, cart with exceptional ornamentation. Implements, tools, harness, textiles and household utensils.
Closed every year: 1 Jan., Good Friday, Easter Eve, Easter Sunday, 24-26 Dec. and 31 Dec.
The National Gallery
Norway's largest collection of Norwegian and international art up to 1945. Norwegian art history with an emphasis on the major works from the National Romantic period. Two rooms devoted to Evard Munch's works - among others `Skrik´ (The Scream) and Madonna.

The Polar Ship Fram
The entire original Arctic exploration ship Fram, built 1892, is exhibited with its original interior and inventory. The ship was used for three expeditions by Fridtjof Nansen, Otto Sverdrup and Roald Amundsen. A comprehensive history of arctic exploration is presented around the ship. All texts and information translated into 8 languages.

Norwegian Museum of Cultural History (Norsk Folkemuseum)
In this, one of Europe's largest open air museums, you find a variety of traditional houses from all over Norway. During the summer season lots of activities take place such as folk dancing, arts and crafts, baking, domestic animals, shows etc. Several indoor exhibits with traditional handicraft items, folk costumes, furniture and church interiors. Recommended activities for children, horse and carriage ride, visit the animals or an old fashioned candy store.

The Kon-Tiki Museum
The Kon-Tiki Museum is located at Bygdøy, just minutes from the city Centre of Oslo.
The Museum houses original vessels and objects from Thor Heyerdahl´s world famous expedititions: The balsa raft Kon-Tiki, the papyrus boat Ra II, copies of Easter Island statues and a model of Tigris. In addition the museum has a film room showing continous short fims from Thor Heyerdahls expeditions. New museum shop early spring 2006. The Museum is open all year.
Akershus Fortress
Dating from 1299, this Medieval castle and Royal Residence developed into a fortress armed with cannons in 1592.
Free guided tours of the fortress in the summer, all year on request. Changing of the guards (HM The King's Guards) every day at 1.30 p.m.
Tusenfryd Amusement Park
TusenFryd is Norway's no.1 amusement park!
We offer our guests a total of 33 carousels and attractions, 74 games and 23 restaurants. Try the success rides RollOver, SuperSplash, ThunderCoaster and SpaceShot. We have a special area for water activities, and lots of fun for the whole family! The youngest children will enjoy the kiddy area with rides especially for them. Hadeland Glassworks (Hadeland Glassverk)
Hadeland Glassverk, steeped in history, art, culture and old handcraft traditions, is one of Norway`s most popular tourist attractions. The skills of glass-blowing have been carefully nurtured over the past 238 years producing a unique attribute in Norwegian cultural history. Let your children blow their own glass, dye their own candles, visit the Honey House or enjoy a freshly baked pastry from the Bakery.

Kistefos-Museet (Kistefos Museum)
The former Kistefos Wood Pulp Mill is today an industrial museum and the only intact Scandinavian wood pulp mill. Besides presenting an important chapter of Norwegian industrial history, the museum offers annual art exhibitions by both Norwegian and international artists.

Blaafarveværket
Blaafarveværket includes many different historical sites, and it is one of the ten most visited museums in Norway. Blaafarveværket covers an area of 8km with pleasant surroundings. New art exhibitions every year that complements the permanent exhibitions of the works history. Children’s farm with common Norwegian farm animals. Three cafés serve homemade traditional Norwegian food and delicacies. The shops offer special crafted cobalt blue glass and jewelry. Along the river Simoa there is a large park area with tables, benches and swimming possibilities. The splendid Haugfossen waterfalls. 8 km from the works, the cobalt mines are located. Here the visitors can relive the life of a mine-worker by taking guided tours into the mines. Visitors can also walk along the open-cast mines on the new track also designed for wheelchairs with special viewpoints. Check out the mine-shop in the café where special souvenirs are available.

Car: From Oslo circa 90 km or 1,5 hours driving: Follow E18 to Drammen, take right to Drammen N before the bridge and follow Road no. 283 to Åssiden, and forth to Hokksund. Then follow Road no. 35 towards Hønefoss. When you get to Åmot follow the signs to Blaafarveværket through Åmot towards Sigdal. From Åmot it is about 4 km. Alternative route: E18 to Drammen, then follow E134 to Hokksund, through Hokksund and on to Road no. 35 and then the same route as above.

The Norwegian Armed Forces Aircraft Collection
The Norwegian Armed Forces Aircraft Collection is housed in an outstanding, modern building southwest of Oslo Airport Gardermoen. The collection comprises more than 30 historic aircrafts that gives a unique insight into Norwegian military aviation. All jet fighters which served with the Royal Norwegian Air Force during the years of the cold war are represented together with rare specimens from WW II , including restored German planes, and a number of aircrafts from the early years of aviation. The collection, owned by the Norwegian Armed Forces, has been brought together and restored over a long period of time. The work has mainly been carried out by groups of volunteer enthusiasts.
