Norway’s capital has a great deal to offer that you should not miss - sights, shopping, culture, sightseeing, food and drink and entertainment. Walk along Karl Johan – the main street, get a ferry to the islands in the Oslo fjord, check out the street life at Aker Brygge or pay a visit to one of Oslo’s numerous museums.
Some of the most famous landmarks: the Vigeland sculpture park, the Kon-Tiki Museum, the Norwegian Museum of Cultural history, the Fram (polar ship) Museum, the Viking Ship Museum, the Munch Museum and Holmenkollen.
The city’s location between the fjord and the Marka forest and recreational wilderness area, makes it an interesting city and a lot of the things to do are outdoors activities. The underground train takes you to the Marka in 20 minutes and you can go walking, cycling, canoeing etc.
In the winter in Oslo, there are a large number of options. There is a ski resort with 14 different descent routes and 6 lifts only 30 minutes from the city centre. There is also the option of cross country skiing, ice skating and tobogganing.
